Zeeland Freight Service?

    Hey guys, so I’ve been driving for about a month and started with a local food services company and starting to think it’s not the right fit with the schedule and busting by back all day. I have met with Zeeland Freight Service out of Zeeland Mi and wondering if anyone here drives for them and knows more about them. I know what they haul but just curious if guys like driving for em or not. It’s good money and I anticipate getting an offer soon.

    A friend tried them out, he didn't like it. In his first week, they had him in 3 different trucks.He was learning picking up scrap from the Gary steel mills. They wanted the trucks back in the yard weekends, and he lived about 50 miles away. Just wasn't a fit for him.

    Another Michigan based reefer company to consider is Van Eerden. I almost went to them a couple years ago and looked at them in some detail. What with the wages going up and inflation, you might look again for yourself but Van Eerden looked very good to me for their compensation, benefits and on-line reputation. I also spoke with two of their drivers who were satisfied and hauled some loads for them as well with my last company. If I were going for a reefer job, they are one of the first I would consider.

    I switched recently to flat beds and believe that is a healthier lifestyle with better earning potential and more professional culture - just sayin.

    Zeeland isn't reefer. Dump, some flatbed, hauling some containers.
