What is your favorite high visibility clothing?
I hate wearing high vis vests, so I have opted for high vis T shirts during warm weather. However, most of them have strips of vinyl reflective material sewn on, which makes them harder to get on because they don't stretch. The vinyl areas also don't breathe.
The Carhartt brand with printed on reflective material is a much better option for me. The problem though, is that they are a loose fit. What I really want is something that fits more snug, like an Under Armor shirt, but with the Carhartt printed material.
So any way, that's the best option that I've found so far. I look forward to reading your suggestions.
Oh, and this isn't limited to shirts. I'm interested in the entire spectrum of high vis gear.

High vis did not exist in my time.
I think the US Army started using PT belts then.
With that said... the high vis was being applied to trucks in the famous sticky red and white pattern we all instantly id as a commerical vehicle.
And sometimes as happened to me, recognize Im about to T bone a 18 wheeler 150 feet across my road in the eastern morning fog as I burned at him at 80+ Those stripes in the fog reflected just enough to give life saving warning.
Other than a belt buckle spurs on your boots and some jewlery etc that was your high vis. -
I have a single vest bought at Walmart. It works good year 'round no matter what I'm wearing or what the application is and does not generally need washing unless the chaining operation involved triple rail sets.

DsquareD Thanks this. -
My favorite kind of reflective idiot vest is the kind I never have to wear. However ...
I have an oversized coat that is orange with the yellow stripes on it. I can take the inside part out which is the warm part for winter. The outside part is very baggy and very loose so it's not uncomfortable to wear.

Maybe I just need to scrub my tarps, but I get dirty pretty fast after handling a set of lumber tarps.
I have several vests in my truck, including one XXL that fits over my Carhartt winter jacket and pretty much stays on it all winter. -
I think it is great for construction workers who need to be seen from long distances, which gives people more time to react. For close in operations, like loading a truck, I think it is less effective, especially when the loaders routinely back up without even turning their head. You just need to be aware and stay out of the way.
None of this, however, helps us with the rules imposed upon us by customers. That's the number one reason why I wear it and if I have to, then I want to at least look somewhat professional. -
This is what the truck stop in Moriarty, NM usually has.CasanovaCruiser, PeteyFixAll, Lepton1 and 2 others Thank this. -
