Has anyone have experience with the Yokohama ty517mc2 drive tire? Thinking about purchasing a set.

Me too actually. Remember seeing few people in here recommending them

I got my truck with them on the drives. I have just a few more than 100K on them, unfortunately I don't know when they were installed. They would appear to have about 30-50K left (5/32 left, started at 15/32.)

fargonaz Thanks this.

Look in the owner operator section. They're talking about that tire.

My first set of tires that I have actually paid attention to, so I don't have a baseline to judge against.

I tried the Yoko 517's. They dont last. Rocks dig in and stay. Once they go beyond 50%,.. they seemed to wear out faster. I got just over 225k out of them and my tire dealer would not give me credit for them for recaps. I dont recommend them.
Hankook DL07 or General HD550 are my preferred drive tires.
I got just shy of 400k out of Hankook DL07 with very even wear.
I'm currently at 92k on General HD550's and they are still showing 80% tread with perfect wear.

I ran a set of the 517 MC2 and got 335,000 miles out of them in 4 years. No irregular wear. Actually on my truck they wore better than the goodyears I had, don't remember the number tho. Was very happy and would run them again. Low rolling resistance too. I'm getting ready to put a set of continental HDL 2DL's next week only because they are $18 a tire more than the 517's. I also would consider what I do a more high scrub situation. I make about 15-20 drops a week. I go through torque rods on back axle every 8-12 months
