Just get teh stupid ring with sand in it. Screw using that bead stuff at 25 bucks a packet. I buy good brand name tires and use the center ring thing and have NO issues.

Never had any luck with RY617 yokos. Been thru a couple of sets of them on steer axle and had big cupping, dipping issues. One set lasted about 80k the other did go to 115k amazingly enough but they cup and dip so badly the last 20k miles are full of shimmy shakys.. I'll never buy yokos again..

I do (CounterAct) Also up until 7 yrs ago I would never concider any tire except Yokohama, the people I buy my tires said that ever since they changed compound and manufacturing process(trying to keep in the rolling resistance game) they don't last. They don'even stock them anymore, they will order them if you insist, but warns you your not going to like the warrenty process if(when) you have a problem. He also said that it seems the 22.5's don't have as many issues as the 24.5's.

Same experience, only less miles. The weird part is they look great up to about 50k then turn into crap suddenly. The worst ones that got warranty replacement were 16 oz out of balance when the dealer spun them before swapping them out. They had been balanced when mounted and run with Centramatics.

Yeah it's like at 50k with yoko steers they just start dipping and cupping badly, by 75k they just rattle your teeth.. that 115k set, I just could not afford steers sooner.. have some GY G399's now with almost 100k and they are good tires, no dipping.. that's my next set I'm sold...

Goodyear G399 for the win! 170,000+ miles with centramatics and still rolling, but will need replacement soon due to a couple valleys. There isn't a doubt in my mind that new 399's are going on this truck!

I have bridgeston 287a on the fron to volvo 780 with air ride. ive heard stories of 150to 200 thousand on steers and up until these bridgestones never made it to 100 thousand. and after 30 years i ve had several diffrent brands up ther but i have never got this many mikes on steers and i never would have thought front air ride suspension would be cable, but 121 thousnd as of the end of thie week and can be run proably 1 to4 more months but im moving them to my trailor. had xza before these and i think they made it ti high 80 s. you pay way to much for this tire but i like that on averga to run 1 and half years with out replacement. my drives im using latest yoko that is rated with the brigdestone drives for rolling resitancc and heat transfer. i have just under 200 thousand and have great tread left. dont have depth check with me and will repost if anyone wants to know
