Just replaced my drives on Friday. Bought 8 Yokohama 11R 22.5 TY577s, balanced, new valve stems, dismount and mount for $2450 (+ tax $2600) at the T/A in Walton, KY. (Exit 175 I 75) including my Michelin caps. Dealt with Gerry - she's a sweet-heart :)

Seems Yokohama cannot keep up production to fill T/A orders, so T/A is dropping them as a supplier. They currently have a flyer for these tires @ $3699, but go into the Service desk and ask for better pricing, they'll cut you a good deal since they want out of the Yoko's. The Walton TA only had 7 tires in 11R 22.5 so brought one in from the other TA at the 181mm.

So if you're looking for new drives you might want to see what you can get at the various T/A's.

I dont know if thats really all that good of a deal. Did you do your homework?? those tires have a RR of 133 and instead of spendin a lil more on Bridgestone M720's ($3400 w/ mounting included) with a RR of 110, it will now cost you another $2600 a year in fuel basing on 120K miles a year. How good of a deal was it now??? I wont be rushing in there...

I've got a set of ty577's. 75,000 miles and they're starting to channel on the closed shoulder. Had the same and even worse wear problems with m726's before. The groove on the outside edge on 577's is supposed to eliminate that problem so I'm not impressed nor happy. I dont think either tire is worth a craps. Fuel mileage is the same m726's or ty577's from what I've seen. In 75,000 miles I'm down to 19/32's so maybe I'll get 200k miles, wow... that sucks... be looking for a new brand to try in the meantime.. that was BTW a good deal on yokos I paid $3250.00 otd for 10 back in Feb..

I agree with ya on the M726 fuel economy. I have them on the truck I am getting an inframe on now. They were pretty well new when I bought the truck (5000 miles on em) and they have been an excellent tire for wear....got 320K miles on em, never a flat or any problem, and just touching the wear nibs between the tread now...the RR of a M726 EL is 141, but a M720 is 110, which will save approx $3300 over a
year on fuel...thats what I am going for next.

When I was looking for tires, I found way better deals than those at the truckstops.

I've never bought any tires at a truck stop besides a used one to get me home in a bind. My tire shop takes good care of me on price and warranty.

You should try shopping for tires here in Canada!! No way I could get anything close to the price I paid at the T/A. A couple of local tire dealers here were $33 - 3800 for BFG's and Firestones.

I'd love to shop local for them, but the prices here are just way too high.

The TY577 rating of 133 is a lot better than the 150 rating of the Michelin XDA-HT's they replaced. I could have gone another 5 or 6 hundred more, but right now I have to replace the shocks on the drives, and 8 tires on my trailer. Right now it comes down to initial cost and getting the best I can for my dollar.
