Hello. Would a yard jockey job be considered as " verifiable tractor/trailer experience" ? Or does that mean OTR? Thanks

If they are looking for a shuttle driver or yard jocky it might.
If they are looking for a 48 state OTR driver, unlikely.389Trucker, ChaoSS and BUMBACLADWAR Thank this. -

what i do doesn't even qualify as OTR experience, im driving locally, home every-night milk tanker. personally i dont care that it doesn't qualify as 48 state OTR experience, 48 state is not something i am really interested in at this point in my life. however, i guarantee that if i did pursue OTR driving, my experience driving milk truck would be of great benefit. i am well aware the actual driving part, i do it everyday..... i would have work on things like handling the qualcomm, driving in major cities, and navigating across the country.... as far as driving yes i am doing that everyday. heavy trucks i scaled at 99K lbs today at the milk plant, 18 speed manual transmissions, steep grades, smooth bore tanker, dealing with idiots on the road, driving in bad weather. OTR trucks might be shut down, but milk trucks are ALMOST always running, milk never stops.
after doing milk truck for a while i could probably pursue any local job i desire, but as far as driving OTR (if i ever did) i would likely get placed with a trainer again and then laugh at him if he has significantly less time in the seat then myself LOL, but that's the way it is.
i think if your goal is actually pursue a driving career, being a yard jokey is going to be of limited benefit. if your just looking for a job $21.31 per hour is darn good money.Lav-25 and 389Trucker Thank this. -
My yard dog experience wasn’t counted by Schneider when I applied, and had a few other companies tell me they wouldn’t calculate it as experience for determining starting pay rate.
Some construction jobs were willing to accept it though.389Trucker Thanks this. -
So I take it some companies would accept t it as experience and some won't.
