If the light was flashing, they do not want you in unless you need a permit. Otherwise, you have to cross the scale and they want you to park and then come in.

    Simple.

You will need your registration and IFTA...leave your log book outside! For CO, don't forget your log and license, as long as your VIN # is on the passenger door (visible) once you check in the first time it is a rare time to get called in again....unless you're legal with weight.

You did good driver. Nothing to worry about. There are even Wyoming ports you don't need to stop at (the small ones) that say you only need to stop if delivering in the state.

Wyoming has changed a bunch of the small ports into bidirectional scales. If you watch you'll see they've changed the signs in the outbound direction.

first of all YOU are ok driver
BUT--this brings up a very interesting point--for new drivers form other parts of the country--especially back east--I hear/see this alot--since there is nothing like this(POE'S)on the East beach--and more than once I have been strollin--in or out in WY or CO--when a driver was really confused and slightly nervous--since they had no idea WHAT to expect...
So to some of y'all bigger company types--especially those that went to driving schools--Do they not talk of this in school or orientation or whatever?
When i first started runnin West--Older hands--gave me a heads up about POE's or I NEVER would have known--but as we all no things were different--in the horse and buggy days:biggrin_25514:
    just wondering?

When you're out west.Chances are the scales will always be open and your prepass don't mean nothing. They just wanna check your permit book. But always bring all the needed paper work in,logs, bills med card permit book and drivers license.Think Wyoming has more scales then the entire state of Texas.

I always look for the flashing yellow lights on the sign which is a rare there. Once a week if I'm lucky. It's a bypass so you don't have to go in and show your cab card and ifta. Complete waste of time and my life. Gets very old when you do it 5 Nights a week. I can see the bypass flashing before I even get into the off ramp and I get happy. Lol. You did fine driver.
