No problem. Any fines or penalties imposed by goverment agency will never be allowed as a tax right off.

It's been nearly 25 years since I was self employed, are you saying a business can not put a fine or penalty down as a business expense?

    MartinFromBC and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

Just write it off as overweight permit. No one will know the difference.

It wouldn’t be much of a penalty if you can write it off.

It is a legit business expense. A business owner is not taxed on income they do not earn.

so, the deterrence intended by courts imposing financial penalties on corporations that break laws and regulations is irrelevant ? then what is stopping them from doing whatever whenever, hmmmm ?
