Would you be able to feel and hear if you hit something with tail swing at the back of your truck or would it go unnoticed in a tractor trailer or smaller truck?
Would you know if you hit something in a truck?

A furry animal probably not, a telephone pole, definitelytaxihacker66 Thanks this. -
What did you hit?
w.h.o, Wheeler0811, taxihacker66 and 1 other person Thank this. -
My only recordable accident was me leaving a parking spot and the tail swing knocked the mirror cover off the truck beside me, I didn't hear or feel it, I just noticed the plastic piece on the ground and stopped.
I did offer to go up to the Freightliner dealer at the next exit and get him a new cover, hmmm if they had black in stock, LOL, but he wanted to go by his little book to his company leased truck, so later on he probably got it fixed -
If it's air ride. Yeah you know.

The mirror housing was remote controlled but not air ride. LOL

I was being guided back at a customers when a Chevy 1/2 ton backed into my path and sat there. I couldn't see him as my tractor was ####ed to the drivers side and coming straight. When I switched mirrors I could see the nose of the pick-up and stopped abruptly. I had already hit him and crunched the box from the wheel well back.
I never felt a thing. My spotter said he just backed into my path and waited for me to hit him. No time to alert me. -
Why didn't your spotter stop you when he seen the P/U reversing in to your path?
unloader Thanks this. -

Sounds like you had a really bad spotter lol. That's what a spotter is there for. To spot your trailer into a space. Not to say he didn't see something when that was his job. Sounds like a scam to me. Did you know the person spotting you?
