Do most of you guys use standard chain or do you pay the extra money for chain Made in USA? Is there a noticeable difference?

    As an example:

US Cargo Control has "regular" Grade 70 Transport Chain 3/8" 16ft WLL 6600 for $36.29
Made in USA Grade 70 Transport Chain 3/8" 16ft WLL 6600 for $63.22

So is it worth paying the extra $26.93 per chain for Made in USA?

Does the saying "You get what you pay for" hold true when it comes to purchasing chain?

    Thank You.

I argue yes, it's worth it, if you plan to keep it for a long time.

Chain binders- there is a huge difference in quality between off-shore and USA. Company supplied new Chinese ratchet binders are junk, the threads bind unscrewing them screwing them even with lube. I've snapped heads off snap binders before. I've heard of other guys breaking binders too, or the hook end on a chain breaking.

Chain and binder on the left is USA. On the right is China. It just looks and feels cheaper, to me.

I should have clarified a little further, I was inquiring about both chains and binders...

I'd like to know what rated actually means or how often it's tested. Guy on a farm forum once said he bought a brand new 2inch ball for a receiver hitch, head popped off the first time tightening the nut

I always buy USA made for one reason. About 20 or so years ago there was an investigation of import made bolts being head stamped with higher grade markings ( example grade 5 marked grade 8) I do not think this would happen with USA made products. It could but less likely. Look at the amount of counterfeit China products imported. It is not too far fetched idea for this to happen or just lack of quality control and you are having a bad day.

    Yes. Nice and easy load.

Sure.... G70 chain is G70 chain.....just read that last night actually.
And funny how the snap binder I posted is an old Lebus binder, yet I've broken new Chinese binders, and others have done the same with chain and hook ends.

I threw in the binders as personal experience adding to my opinion that Chinese stuff is in fact cheaper quality. Sorry I will try to only comment on what the OP posts from now on.

Hey DD, I think if you put 4x4 on the deck lengthwise you can drive the rollers on them and keep them off the deck. They fit between the feet. We did that on a few military rollers like those.
