well i was watchin the history channel last night and the 6000 truck stops hmmmm you would think you would find a better one but then again nothing stays the same ,it could great when you stoped on your way out and horrible comeing back buy it and to think it all falles down to management????????? if one cares about what they do and give the effort to make it nice and decent for the truckers then it will show but two things are for sure ,lot lizzards will migrate everywher and more so with economy now adays and as far as the truck stop it self it just comes down to plain old good business, you offer a decent product and a good price and the truckes will come to you!!!! laptops and cbs will bring in the customer and appearence

Interesting to see how the worst truck stops a couple years ago don't exist anymore. Survival of the fittest and good ol' competition work every time. Give us a safe place to sleep, good food, the supplies we need, and keep it clean. If they don't, they don't last.
HFC Thanks this. -

Worst truck stop I've ever been in, as far as just cleanliness (or lack thereof) has to be the TA in Jessup, MD. With all the warehouse traffic around there, trucks parking on the roads, having to pay to park in the lot, and the condition of the restaurant/hotel/shop they have there... bleh, I'd rather crawl up a sewer pipe and spend my 10 there.
As far as being scary, the Pilot in Gary, IN had some of the craziest, most felonious-looking people I've ever seen outside of a prison walking around in it. Oh, and the Pilot on the south side of the loop in Atlanta... but good luck getting in there.
Myself, I'm always partial to Petros. Usually have very decent parking, the restaurants have pretty good food at decent prices and are decently clean, and the showers are pretty good as well. -
as for the worst, yeah, the t/a in jessup takes the rotten tomato cake. teh biggest rip-off truck stop is the shell in sumner, wa. it costs more for 12hrs of parking than it does at either of the t/a's in ontario, california.
