Hey trucker family I have a question that I hope someone can help with.
Is it legit to work at a trucking company in one state but have a CDL from another state. I’m not permanently moving to the state where I work . Can someone help with this

    Yes.
As long as you live in the state your license is issued.
Doesn’t matter which state the company is in

you should live in the state you work based out of. unless there are terminals, yards, etc ... in different states

    every state is different?

WRONG! You don’t have to live where you work out of. You have to live where you have a license. You can work wherever.

The clear answer is a resounding YES! It's totally legal. A question though, would you care to get deeper into why you asked this question. You piqued my curiosity with this question is why I am asking!

    rpad139 Thanks this.

The last 3 jobs I've had were on different states. Just make sure to set aside money for taxes if your company doesn't deduct for your state.

At a glance with somebody new I'd guess he was concerned about his companies home office being in a different state.
