I need to instal air dump on spread axle trailer. I'm planing on installing another 7 way connector to run wires for dump, and have some extra circuits for future projects like lift for front axle. So my question is there a standard way of wiring it or i just wire it any way as long is it works? Thanks.

Don't believe there is a standard - just so long as you keep your diagram handy, you're all good.

Pretty simple, you just have to supply power to the valve, all you need is 1 wire.

Yes its all i need is 1 wire, but have to run 7 lol.

Why not use a 4 pin round plug? We use them all the time for trailer on board scales. Only have to run 4 wires that way.

Wonder if you could battery power it with one if them chunky car batteries and a remote control. That'd be cooler than cool.

back in the days when ABS first started coming out I had a tractor that had two 7 way plugs ins on the back of the sleeper, one for switched power to the center port on the pigtail and one for constant power to run ABS. I had a spread axle that didn't have ABS so I hooked the dump valve to the center port and ran the dump from the switch on the dash. It was a quick way to dump 700lbs off the tractor if a situation arose that called for it.

I don't know exact wiring schematic for 7 way, but i think clearance and tail lights are on separate circuits, and combining them in to 1 will free one wire for a dump. Any thoughts on it?

My dump valve is on a separate 7-pin and it's just 1 wire for the dump valve for the past 13 years. Why run seven wires, that is an extra 300 feet of wire, am I missing something.
