Hi all,
As a coworker told me the other day...its surprising that this 100k tractor, it cost so much...yet they can't get the wipers to work worth beans.
I have an 06 Century S/T and the wipers suck. I can't tell how many spray jets there are...I thought three, but i can only see two. Half the windshield gets spray while the other tickles the window and smears dirt around. The wiper itself seems to jump and skip the last 5 inches of travel on the left side of my windshield and when I have to spray a bunch of spray to get the wipers to push the excess towards the top...the spray then goes off the windshield due to the wind and lands on the side view mirrors!
Does anyone know how to fix this? There is a new blade on there and Im wondering about the spray nozzles as far as how many there are. I might look into buying another spring as well for the arm. ALthough I need to find a way to degrease the window as well as something is smearing like oil all over the bottom half of the windshield.
Ideas?
Thanks, Ryan

The wipers and washers are bad on trucks. I found a wiper blade at wal-mart called triple edge that works better the most i use them on my truck and my wife's. I hope that will help.

Wiper blades are cheap, carry several new ones, and when one doesn't work, put on a new one. There should be nozzel attached with a clip to your wiper handle, if that is junk, just replace the hose and clip. Make sure to put good quality (Prestone) as washer fluid, it helps more than you think.

I had the same problem on my Pumpkin truck as you are having. I was told that trico sells a winter blade that has a boot on it. In essence, it keeps any snow/ice/debris from clogging the blade, thus ensuring an even amount of pressure along the whole blade. I didn't get the chance to try them at all but that's what I hear...may look into that. I'm going to check it out.

i had a problem with the top of my windshield not getting sprayed. i brought it up at the terminal and they cleaned the nozzle. problem solved.
during the summer most washer fluid id usless anyway. i usually stop every 2-3 hours to clean my windshield,as a dirty windshield drives me NUTS!!! -
Howdy Ryan,
Ahh yes.. I know this issue well and found an easy solution. Nearly every truck that I drove had this same problem. As you say the driver side sprayer doesn't spray on the upper half of the windshield causing salt and road grime to smear. Another part of the conundrum which helped me solve the problem is that the passenger side sprayer seems to work just fine. The explanation for this is simple fluid dynamics which the manufacturers seem to have a great lack of understanding. You see the tube for the passenger side fluid sprayer is connected to a T-junction closer to the pump (since the fluid and pump are on the passenger side of the engine compartment) then the drivers side. This allows the windshield fluid to travel easier to the passenger side and so less of the fluid makes it to the drivers side. Luckily they usually have a little extra tubing under the windshield wiper which I took advantage of. So finally here is the solution. Fold some of the extra tubing leading to the passenger side wiper sprayer twice so that it makes an S and either tape the middle section or use a small safety pin to hold it in place. You want about two or three inches between folds. You don't want to completely pinch the tube but just slightly to create the right pressure dynamic. It took me 3 times of shifting the tube and experimenting to finally get it right. Of course you want to clean the nozzles which a small safety pin is perfect for. Another thing that may help specifically with the upper side of the driver side windshield is to use slightly larger safety pin in the top outer nozzle on the drivers side. lastly the whole nozzle sprayer assembly usually slides on the wiper frame. Slide it as far out as possible. You may want to tape the bottom section because it tends to slide back down the frame.. hope this helps. -
Try different spray nozzles. Some are adjustable with a needle

Seriously? The thread is nine years old...... Pretty sure he doesn't care about his wipers anymore.....lol
