My windshield has light scratches that fit the pattern of wiper blades. How do I remove it and what do you must cause it? (I have a brand new wiper)

Clean wiper blades with isopropyl alcohol to keep the dirt out of the rubber. Dirt and debris is abrasive and can scratch the glass over time.

Try buffing the glass with 0000 (quad/O) steel wool. Small circular motion all over. Will never be as clear as new one, so replacement is the only way to get back to spotless.

    you only have 2 choices.

    1) replace the window

    2) take the truck to a glass shop, and they can buff out those scratches. DO NOT try this on your own, you need a high speed buffer and the proper materials to do this.

then be sure to keep your glass clean, before each trip, and after each stop, and the end of your day.

keep your wipers clean, simply wiping them down with glass cleaner can work.

when at the truck stop for fueling, wash them. or at least hose them down

Cerium Oxide polish. You can get it from Amazon for under $15. Water and a small buffer, I have a 3". Its messy, use water with it, you can buff out all the scratches. Works like a charm. Tape the window off and use tarps to cover the hood etc. Its messy, and hard to get off. Have a hose close by.

Elroy, never heard of this stuff. Thanks for sharing. I'm linking another video Youtube recommended which has a few 'upgrades' like before/after, more tips and well, girls.

yes, this is the stuff that i bought a couple of years ago, to smooth out the tiny spots on my car's windshields from time to time. i use a cloth and my finger and rub gently. works wonders for small spots. but the "average" person may be too aggressive using a buffer wheel...

When it comes to buffing I'd be less than average, and I didnt have a problem. Other than taping it off and plastic. It will stain and black nnm plastics and they will need a good clean and a healthy dose of back to black. I dont think you could over do it, I used a 3" buffer I had. Worked wonders and the wipers NEVER worked better on even a new windshield.

Only use wipers when it rains. Don’t use them to clean windshield. That just causes them to become grinding stones on the glass.
