Will trucking companies be looking at my credit score before they hire me?

Cause if it wasn't for bad credit, I wouldn't have any credit.

    Thanks!

I've had some companies want to check my credit. The thing is, they have to ask me in order to do it. Mine is frozen. I have to unlock it before it can be pinged. Bridgestone will check it.

I suppose a few do, especially those that have "lease" programs. Maybe with bad credit, they won't all the time be hassling you to leave company driver position for leaser-operator position.

I don't know the answer to the OP's question but I think trucking will create the opportunity to rebuild credit. Nothing suggests good credit better than a steady income.

Conway checked mine. Most companies are using it as a condition of employment under the premise that if you have bad credit you are more apt to steal stuff. That pesky little 3 digit score will getcha

Credit scores are even use to set car insurance rates. Insurance company studies have shown that those with less than stellar credit get into accidents more often and file more claims. Some college education helps too
