Will this Battery kill switch work on a semi truck?

    I have a peterbilt 587, I. Changing all 4 batteries tomorrow and i need to install a kill switch. Will the one on the pic work for semis?

    No, that's for a post style. You need something for a stud. And it's got to handle the amperage. What's it rated for?

    Personally, i would never mount one at the batteries. Mount it remote and break the ground.

    I don’t think it has enough amperage capacity. I don’t know what the amp draw is for your truck, but I would guess close to 200a

    That’s at 48v. Amperage increases as voltage decreases. So I if I remember right it’s a little over 100a at 12v.

    Thank you all for the responses! Im going to wait and do some research or get a shop to install one. i thought it was going to be easy, but it seems like theres more to it and I dont want to short or burn my truck down.

    Sometimes my truck sits for a week or 2 and the battery is dead by the time i get back. The batteries im replacing was just purchased a lil over a year ago. Now after 1 night off it needs a jump.
