Will dealers remove Bendix collision/lane departure/wingman systems?

I'm still as far off as God knows what, but have recently just started looking into buying a truck. Anyway, I don't want to go too far off topic, into that, as I'm wondering about something different completely. I personally cannot overstate just how much I CAN NOT STAND Bendix collision mitigation systems or lane departure warning or the wingman (the 2 in 1). Or the On Guard versions either. I've always been a company driver. First truck I was ever put in with that garbage was back in 2014, and about half of the company trucks I've been in since have had one or the other. More Bendix lately. I've been noticing how every mega carrier truck on the road now has it, as obviously the megas that don't give a darn about driver comfort are being sold on that crap under the guise of safety. Only trucks I ever seem to see without it anymore, tend to be long nose Petes, KW's, FL Classics, Lonestars, etc. Pretty much all owner operator trucks and/or anything with a chrome front bumper. Exceptions in company trucks seem to be getting fewer every month. I don't know if that has something to do with the radar not being compatible with a metallic surface. Or on the flip side, got me to thinking, since they're mostly all o/o trucks, I wonder if it's optional equipment that you can either decline or have removed on a new or used truck? I have done a little online shopping or rather browsing as well, and from what I've seen, seems to be most trucks 19 or newer come with it, though I haven't been able to find anything that says whether or not it's optional equipment. I know the easy thing to do would be walk into a dealership and ask them "can I buy that truck and have the Bendix removed before I drive it off the lot"? But since I'm nowhere near the point of making a purchase yet, I'd prefer not wasting their time with my BS, or vise verse, allow them to waste my time with some slick salesman trying to convince me "you're closer to being able to purchase that truck than you thought".
Sorry if this was too long winded, as I have a tendency to do that.

might be a huge liability issue if the dealer does it, and you crash, and they get sued along with you.

and i cannot advise you how to do it either, in fact, i'm guessing that's against the rules here

No they will not remove it or deactivate it. If it came with it from the factory it has to stay. One dealer told us it was federal law, but I don't know if that's actually true. I do know that the ecm programming won't allow it to be removed.

I've seen a YouTube video that plainly shows how to simply remove the radar cover and disconnect the wires if you want to DIY. But doesn't go on to say whether or not you'll still have functioning cruise control, which is the first question that comes to mind for me.

buy the truck, and start monkeying around with it by watching you tube.....
    ya sure they's be experts..??????

.then go back to the dealer, cuz now you got more problems, then they scan it, and found that you altered things...

they will do one of two things..

    1) send you on your way someplace else

    2) make the system right again, and charge you thru the nose...

Whoa easy. Nobody said anything about actually going out and doing anything. Pretty sure I made it clear on my OP that I'm still very far off from even walking onto a dealer lot. We're all just talking here, as this is a public online forum, and that's how these work.

when you start watching "do it yourself" diagnostic or repairs from you tube idiots, can you think the outcome is what you really want to happen?

you would be better off going to diesel mechanic schooling and learning the proper way.

    this from your first posting...

I'm still as far off as God knows what, but have recently just started looking into buying a truck.

so you STARTED LOOKING, which tells me, you're gonna pull the trigger as soon as you see something that you want

Heck of an assumption there, that frankly doesn't even warrant a response. But for what it's worth, nope. I don't have the financial means (down payment, savings fund for emergency repairs) ready to even walk onto a lot, nor have I even really started to save for that. Probably about a year or two, until I can put as much down as I would like to. During which time, I'll be doing all kinds of research, gathering all kinds of information from every worthwhile resource I can find. Heck, including even well meaning ex drivers on message boards, even if they have a unfortunate tendency to jump to conclusions and assume the worst of me or my ambitions.

Do you know if the cruise control will still operate normally? And if it's legal to do so? Also, do you have any sources you can share, which may verify said legality or lack thereof?
