Something smells about this. I got a call from a broker to set me up for a load that my private dispatcher had booked me. One of the questions was; do you want your dispatcher to be allowed fuel advance money? I said why would he need that? The broker didn't have an answer, she just said that when the load was booked the dispatcher had added himself to fuel advance funds. Has anyone ever heard of this? This seems unethical at best and likely illegal. How is it possible for someone who I pay to book me loads to simply add himself to my fuel advance funds? Do brokers allow this to go on?
Why would a private dispatcher list himself for fuel advance?

Whatever it is it stinks and i can see no reason for the broker to be listed. I smell a rat.
If it were me I would not use this guy again and not do this load either. He has access to your fuel funds......possibilities are endless like skimming, the FSC ....just dunno.
I say get away from whole deal and don't look back.

Man this is burning me up ! Another new twist to shaft the trucker! We're under constant assault on several fronts all the time....where does it end???

Looks really bad, time to review your contract and terminate it.

I wouldn't run this load. However I wouldn't allow someone else to book my loads either. What do you think the broker/customer thinks when the truck is asking for fuel money up front? It screams cash flow problems. Quick pay once in a while is ok, but try to avoid all of these extra costs.

What it is,is to allow fuel advances for the purpose of advancing the funds to you the driver, ..It could be one of those broker loads that wont or cant let him advance fuel funds to the driver, because some drivers have been know to run off with advanced money before..

Why not just ask the dispatcher? It could be he just signed one of the 20 pages brokers send over. Or it could be he got it in case he ever got numbers for you. It doesn't have to be he is stealing from you. We dispatch a few outside trucks and sometimes get comchecks for them for unloading, since they don't want to deal with it. They call us with unloading, we call the broker and call back with the comcheck. I would just check in with the dispatch before worrying too much. It might be nothing. If you don't want that in the future send them something in writing to cover yourself.

Wow! I'm not understanding this one!, Unless like just stated that the Broker wants you to be able to get a Fuel dvance but it sounds fishy. Take Care be careful.

If you don't trust your dispatcher.........then it is time to end the relation.
I would talk to him and then decide if you still trust him.cetanediesel Thanks this. -
