Can someone shed some light on why people do not like driving in New York State?

I'm not talking about the city because the answer would be pretty obvious but other than that extra license plate what's the big deal?

Again, I've only driven within Ontario before so this cross-border stuff is all new to me so please bear with me.

a higher toll rate on the Thruway for 53 footers doesn't help.

Don't mind running the Up State. But it is getting a bit expensive to run up there.

In the city, itself, there are some really weird places you have to dock....not to mention, the neighborhoods and the hours you have to be there.

Hubby has been driving for 24+ years....he hasn't delivered in NYC for 21 years, and he won't, ever again....

We do, however, deliver all over NY state....just not the city.

New york is a, if you'll pardon my language, B**** to drive in. Got to avoid parkways and also you got to worry if you take a wrong turn you can get stuck in one of those neighborhoods with narrow and small streets. Happened to me on my first run, trust me I know!!!

Plus you got to worry about the #### cops ticketing you even when your at a delivery, I got one of those too!!! came up and got in the middle of my delivery while I was parked...

And also the markings on the overpasses are off so they say that they are shorter than they are. That is because they mean when it's snowing but nobody tells you that...

And if you don't know that then your in for a hard time. Plus not to mention the traffic and if your driving during rush hour forget about it!!! I spent #### near 3 hours gridlocked in that city!!

Only thing I could do was open my windows and crank up some music and enjoy a nice cigar while I waited....

My very first run went 3 stops on Long Island 1 in Connecticut and then 1 in Great Barring ton Mass and then finally the last one in Cohaset Village 25 miles south of Boston. I started in Irvine Ca.

And what was worse was the drive manager I had didn't really help much when it came to trying to synchronize time. So I basically ended up having to sit there at the end of my run and do a 34 hour restart.

So I took the liberty of going into Boston during that day and a half I was sitting there. Luckily there was a train that was near by and my truck was safe so I decided why not, I got nothing else to do..

While it was cool to do that it was not cool to end up sitting like that.

It was interesting to say the least..
