Well I know why people buy more upscale trucks. When I had my Volvo, the people that worked on the Volvo's, especially here in Phoenix were all first class.
A few days ago my water separator went bad on my Cascadia ( Cummins ISX ). This absolute stooge service writer at a Freightliner shop in Fountain Colorado, said he couldn't change that and my fuel filter, but he would put it on the computer to see what the code said for $145.
This is the definition of a stooge. Every Freightliner place is like this.
Being as it has a Cummins, I drained the separator and took it about 30 miles south to the Kenworth dealer in Pueblo.
That service writer listened to what I had to say, said " Yea sounds like filters. We're having a meeting right now. Drop your trailer, park on that line, and we should be able to get you in about an hour."
He said clogged filters will throw a code, so saved my money there.
Changed filters. Purred like a kitten, code cleared.
I always liked the Shakers, cause its the most common. But everywhere I turn, every Freightliner dealer / shop is just a hangout for stooges.
Why are Freightliner Dealer / Shops all stooges?

All the Frieghtliner dealers around here are first come first served. I sometimes get parts at the one in Canonsburg. I was in there awhile back and woman, who worked for a mega and was not permitted to work on the truck, was there waiting to get a tail light repaired. For three days!!!
Ribeye, Mike2633 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
People ask me why I keep my ol beast with the rod from pedal to pump, comfort I reckon. I hate it for guys like you Dave, hate it even worse for the guys that don't know better and let some thing so simple hold them up a week
Ribeye, Oldironfan, blairandgretchen and 3 others Thank this. -

I know those guys at that Kenworth dealer have made a customer. I pick up there a lot, and they will get any of my motor work.

Dave, and others, stay away from the stooge deluxe outfit in Flagstaff. They've got the "billable hour" game down to a science.
I also bought a freightliner because of their commonness. I wanted cheap parts anywhere in the country. I guess the difference is made up for with the stooges that run those shops.
Good call taking it elsewhere!Ribeye and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
