What is the name of that company who does all the big wind turbine transporting? I see them advertised all the time but can't think of it now.

Is it Wabash Valley? Seems like they had a division that hauled something like that.

I've seen Keen Transport hauling some of the oversize stuff before, but I haven't seen any one company hauling the majority of it.

ATS, ANderson Trucking Service does a lot, and they put out ads asking SPECIFICALLY for O/O's/drivers with wind tower experience.

You need additional credentials; training and experience, to haul oversize if you weren't grandfathered in with the rule changes. If you have experience hauling windmills, you don't need this added training.

I don't know about the company or companies involved but I'm interested in learning about it.

The other guys are right, lots of cos haul them. I have seen ATS advertising for drivers w/ that specific experience. I have seen Lone Star (I think) hauling them too, they advertise they are an oversize/overdimensional hauling co too.

Nearly all of the turbines are imported. Some of the blades are too, but we are manufacturing them now. Around here Anderson, Lone Star, Keen, Dailey are the main haulers. Trinity Industries makes most of the steel towers and hauls them as well. See them on 199 everyday between Springtown and Jacksboro. Blades and turbines mainly on I-20 heading W out of Weatherford. There is an old time truckstop there across from the Pilot where they park for the night. Has a motel for drivers and escorts and huge parking lot they can manuvuer in.
