hay guys i changed the oil in mt dump a few weeks ago and when i went to get the oil they didnt have enough of the rottala (i think thats right) 15/40 anyway so i went with the valvalen 15/40. now my truck usely idle with 30/33 psi oil press. now with this oil it goes to 25/26 anybody else seen this problem with the oil breaking down so fast?? my truck is a dump and im doing about the same thing everyday that i do with the other oil in it....i plan to change it again and go back to the rott. oh also i use and new type filter that i never used came from the kw dealership fleetguard i always used the baldwn from the fleet pride..maybe that could be it...whats your thought on this ...it just seem funny how it went down from 30/33 to 25/26 with the oil change nothing odd about the oil that came out truck still runs fine ...

Fleetgaurd is a good filter they make filters for caterpillar.....IMO valvoline, Castrol, and that such i leave them to passenger car engine oil when it comes to a diesel engine i say go with Rotella, Delo, or Mobil Delvac....I use Rotella only because it was previously ran in the engine before i bought and i dont like changeing oil brands....Always ran Delo in my diesel pickups with no flaws....Delvac is good stuf as well....

I worked at a oil company for 10 years and we sold a bunch of 15/40 oil over the years that was our main business and i never never remember anybody comeing and asking for valvoline, castrol, penzoil any of that for their diesel engine....

you may try adding a gallon of lucas to the engine next oil change it helps my oil pressure stay up a little higher

Just as IS said, Lucas may bring your oil pressure back up?
Someone posted oil viscositys and viscositys with Lucas add. It thickens oil by a considerable amount. I searched and cant find the article, so i have no proof.
I always felt Lucas is a "bandaid", covering up other problems. A friend of mine is very dedicated to the stuff. Everyone has their ideas and answers. Mine doesnt include Lucas.
