I have done a lot of research and I know paying for your CDL training is the best option. I'm not sure if I can pay for the schooling out of my own pocket. If I can't pay for school myself and have to chose a company that pays or has its on school with contract signing, which of these companies is the best to start out with signing a contract? SWIFT TRANS/WERNER/STEVENS TRANS/PRIME INC/PAM TRANS/USA TRUCK/C.R. ENGLAND/CENTRAL REFRIGERATED/FFE TRANS/ROEHL TRANS/CRST EXP/SCHNEIDER/SRT/U.S. EXPRESS/TMC/COVENANT TRANS/OR EMPIRE EXPRESS INC.??? These are the companies that I have researched on my own, but I am hoping to get some real honest opinions on the best one of these companies to chose from. Please give all of your opinions out there of this list to help give me a cut of this long list. I know it is many, but I know there are people on here that has the experience and knowledge to know the best of these companies. Please help me cut down the list to how ever many you all possibly can out there. There are 17 on this list. I hope to get it down to 3 or an overall 1. Thanks to all that will apply in helping me. I hope for all honest opinions only. Thanks again.

The best for your future would be :

Maryfuturetruckertx and bkm0179 Thank this. -
Got agree again with China, that man can always reccomend the best choices. Just an FYI on Swift. They have a class action lawsuit being brought up against them over drivers wages. I would avoid them like a fat chick when the lights come on at last call.

Millis has a lot of happy drivers and very good school
bkm0179 Thanks this. -
No need to avoid Swift due to that lawsuit, it has nothing to do with their school. The only contract that you sign with Swift is that you will be responsible for paying back the loan. You DO NOT have to go to work for Swift after attending their school, but you do have to repay the loan. Almost all the starter companies will work with you to get the loans repaid. Of course Swift makes it easy to repay the loan through payroll deduction over the course of about a year. Over the course of a second year with Swift, they will reimburse you 100% for attending their school.

Also, the lawsuit has nothing to do with driver wages.

They changed their testing and as of Aug 2012 (I assume is still same) students pay to test in their home state so this can't happen again.
Their training program is actually very good. Not perfect, but I received good instruvtion at their Millington Academy.bkm0179 Thanks this.
