I completed trucking school with 180 hours and I passed the cdl test also. I am only 21 years old and me and my uncle. He has a couple of trucks and is trying to find a insurance company to insure me with liability. I am a highschool graduate, no felonies, no misdeameanors, no accidents and no tickets at all since I got my drivers license when I was 16. Do you guys know a good place to start looking? I haven't called any yet because there all closed right now.

If your starting out on your own.....
Progressive is likely your best bet for starting out.
They are open 24/7 for quotes or customer service.

Be prepared for a serious sticker shock.
Working for an O/O, he likely is best to ask his current company....SpiritCDL Thanks this. -
My uncle owns a couple of trucks and wants me to drive one of his internationals. We are trying to find a company that will insure me. I am 21 years old highschool graduate, no felonies, no misdeameanors, no criminal record, no accidents and no tickets. I also have 180 hours in from Roadmasters trucking school and have passed there tests. Just got my cdl.

Alot of insurance wont take you because 21 and no experience. So it will be alot of calling to find out. Noone here can tell you for sure because it is at the discretion of the underwriter.

I got my cdl when i was 19 and started driving with the company my father was leased on..your best bet is to ask his company..If he has his own authority itll probably jack up his price..

Dairy Land might be able to help you.

I can find out who our insurance carrier is and let you know...I was hired at 19 years old...local though , no OTR.

If your uncle has several years of claims free history or atleast a favorable loss history with his current company they may make an exception and let you on. Be prepared to show why you should be added on - your paperwork from Roadmasters is a start. Perhaps an understanding that you will only go out with some of the experienced guys for the first three months. As several others here stated trying to convince your uncle's current insurance carrier will be a little easier and more cost effective than Progressive, etc...
