Which industries are recession proof?

Booze,,,when times are good folks celebrate with booze,,,when times are bad they drown their sorrows in booze....

 

The military, they need drivers also.

 

Water treatment.

 

Came here to say this. People gotta eat, and with that comes the alternative. Also anything pet food related. A lot of carriers, especially tanker companies are dedicated to dog food plants. If #### goes south people will eat bologna sandwiches for every meal before they switch their dogs food brand.

This. There was a reason liquor stores were deemed essential when things were largely shut down...you don't want to see what happens if you try to shut it.

 

I don't think any industry is recession proof.

Everything operates in a cycle and its almost all interdependent.

I think it's far more important identifying the average duration of an industry's market cycle so you can readjust your strategic view to correspond to that window.

Think of how many can't get past the paycheck to paycheck time horizon, wanting to be entrepreneurial without exercising restraint when times are good in order to create stability throughout the entire cycle.
