I have had a 07 T 600, for 3 years, plan on keeping it long term. My question is this: I only have the basic gauges and was wondering would it be worth the cost to retrofit it with more basic gauges? I currently have: Fuel, Oil Temp and Pressure Voltage Water Temp Primary and Secondary Air Brake Pressure, Boost and Suspension Weight (for Truck)
Was thinking about adding: Pyro, Trans and both axle temps. Didn't know about Fuel Pressure and Air Restriction gauge? I have the Air gauge on my Truck underneath the hood.
Also is this a expensive thing to get done or can they run my VIN and find out if it is prewired for this? I know my Axles do not have the wires running to them as my other truck did?
Advice and or suggestions greatly appreciated.
Which Gauges would you get for your truck?

Pyrometer, manual oil pressure, oil temp, transmission temp, rears, fuel pressure, the more the merrier. These will all help you diagnose issues sooner, saving you money in the long run. They aren't just there for looks. If I were a truck manufacturer I wouldn't send a truck without them, but then again most drivers wouldn't know how to read them anyways. Your truck will be prewired for some but there will be sending units and wiring along the way. Open your dash they should be labeled. Gauges are expensive, but if you are talking about labor you need to roll up your sleeves and get to know your old gal.

If it's a Cat a pyrometer and boost gauges are a must, but in general the more info you have the better you can take care of it. My '05 T-600(old style dash) came with pyrometer and boost gauges, but the dash and engine compartment was pre-wired for several additional gauges, the only 2 I added was fuel filter restriction, and amp meter. I also moved the air filter restriction gauge inside, but there was no plumbing for it just the wires for the gauge back light.

Scamgauges!

air filter restriction is a useless gauge in my opinion.
the ones i look at most are
suspension gauge
water temp
boost
pyro
volts or amps
oil temp can be useful
air psi
axle temps can alert you of a rear end problem, but with the offroad driving i do i have trouble keeping them working and when i they do work they never get hot
fuel filter restriction could be handy to have esp in the winter months

My t600 is a fleet setup truck. Doesn't has turbo boost gauge. I have a air restriction gauge between speedometer and tachometer. No point for me having it.

I have no pyro, no boost, no trans, no rear gauges. never had a problem. wish I had more.

It is nice to know you have fuel problem before it stops in the road. Put one that will help you before it stops.

Anything that reads temperature. Heats a killer. More gauges = more piece of mind. Air restriction gauge-Do They Even Work?
