I use DriveELD. It’s good until you want to edit something from earlier in the day. But the customer support team always answer the phone and it’s not foreigners.

Story: I accidentally stayed in PC status overnight and then forgot to go on duty during pre-trip next morning. Found out it will only let you edit off duty to get your 30 min. So I left for my load after 2 minutes of on duty pre-trip showing, accepted the risk. Very next day, I get pulled for a level 1 at the Raton Pass, NM leaving CO. DOT guy looks at the logs on the phone, swipes up a few times to scroll and hands the phone back. Either he just wasn’t familiar with the app layout, or just didn’t care to look at times.

I use the IVG Omnitracs device. It’s pricey. Mine was about $865. It works well, but the only complaint I have is that it’s slow. Some tech told me that my device has never been updated manually. So hopefully whenever I get the time to update it, it solves this slow problem. I’m feeling optimistic.

Omnitracs also has an app version, which won’t require buying an Omnitracs device. The main reason I decided to stay away from ELD apps is because apps are well known for having serious technical issues. The best way to go about it I believe is to use a device developed by the ELD company, or perhaps use a tablet they highly recommend.

I have Keep Truckin and haven’t had any issues. I don’t pay for the IFTA tracking so I can’t speak about that.

My brother runs a VDO where he’s at and he hasn’t had any issues with it.

I have to print a new time card every month. Once in awhile use a logbook. But I still have a box of those.

Oh wait you didnt mean ELD (Edible Logging Device) did you.
