Do you need a company to help you get your CDL and hazmat? Whereabouts in Texas are you?

Be specific, where in Central Texas? Assuming you don't want to drive 3 hours to start and end work every day we need to know where you will work from. If you have specific requirements about how far you can drive or how much time you can spend commuting mention that as well. If there is a larger town or city nearby, tell us that city or town. Same if you have bedrock, non-negotiable days or hours of work or time off you simply must have. The more you tell us the more help you may receive.

Not saying it is impossible, but getting 1.5k - 1.8k a week as a commercial driver with no experience and stay local, will be an arduous task indeed. May want to look into your decision a little more before making the jump. That is if you need that minimum income each week. I’m assuming you will be applying for a company driver position. There are companies out there that will give new drivers a shot. Coal City Cobb out of Waxahatchie, TX. I believe they just got bought by Heniff. Checkout LTL companies in whatever city you are closer by in Central TX. Great type of company to get your feet wet. Getting your hazmat is pretty much on you. Study the CDL Handbook. It’s all in there. Some companies will reimburse the cost to obtain your endorsement. I would recommend going ahead and take the tanker endorsement also. Short easy test. That will get you an x endorsement (hazmat/ tanker). Good asset to have on your CDL.
    Good luck
