Hey guys just want to get some input here, I've been trying to get out of foodservice now for a while but not having any luck. I want to get into LTL but I cant really take to big of a paycut starting.
I have currently interviewed at FXF but they never called me back, UPS freight but starting pay was only $17 and no guaranteed hours either so I turned it down.
Applied at Saia 2 times this year but only got the phone interviews and that was it. Applied at R&L but never heared anything. Currently I'm waiting to see if ODFL will call me in for an interview, So I dont really have alot of options left so I just wanted to see if any of these would be ok applying to and hows the pay and bennifits and hours. And should I apply at Saia again?![]()

Have you checked into XPO or ABF?
-
Depending on where you live, JET might be a good choice too
-
Yeah I forgot to mention I applied to ABF a couple times as well and they kept ############ me saying they would get back to me for an interview and never dis, also forgot XPO I intervied but never got called back.

Other than FedEx or UPS I'm not too familiar with LTL, but if you live east of I-35 you could check with Pascal Truck Lines

I'm a little surprised you shut down UPS Freight, I know the average pay sucks at first, but usually OT is available, and it's time and a half after 8. Plus, top rate is over $28 and should be over $30 by the time a new hire hits full rate.fargonaz, Bob Dobalina and born&raisedintheusa Thank this. -

Its hard to beat food service income ... but, as you know the toll that work puts on your body isnt worth the extra bump in pay.
Central Transport is looking for drivers in Phoenix. Super slow trucks, but if you believe their ad hype the money is kind of there. Search craigslist for line haul, you'll find em.trecord88 Thanks this. -
