I have talked to a driver from ShipEx (out of Salt Lake City I believe) and he was telling me they pay a weekly salary, not mileage. I do not know what the salary starts at, but if that is what you are looking for, might check them out.
Which companies pay salary instead of mileage?

Some are posting minimums meaning it's the worst you can make. You can still get paid by the mile. This takes breakdowns, hours at shippers, traffic, weather, etc., out if the equation.

Kstrong86 Thanks this.

Some of the Walmart Dedicated accounts do a minimum a day type pay.

I have heard that Hirschbach has a minimum guarantee.

I think Liquid Trucking pays hourly for all time spent not driving. Saw an ad that had something like that. If anyone is interested, research it and make a phone call.

Every time I’ve looked into guaranteed minimum. It’s always borrowing from future earnings. Then taken away from a later paycheck. It does add stability to finances.
I get paid by the load. 25% of gross.SingingWolf Thanks this. -

I drive for shipex and I can tell you that it is $60,000 a year salary. They also pay monthly bonuses. Their equipment is great nothing older that 24 months old if there is they are being switched out very soon. I started almost a month ago and they fly you to orientation or you can take the train which ever you prefer. They give you your own room in a hotel that has everything you need for a week of orientation. once you get to orientation on Monday morning they take you on a road test and if you pass that then you are taken for a drug test. The next day you start talking about the safety and other policies the company has for its employees. For meals they order lunch in and they give you gift certificates for dinner at cracker barrel. On Thursday they should know what truck you are getting and they give you the keys and have you do a pre trip on it to make sure that it is up to par and that everything works properly. Yes all companies have ups and downs but so far the only down I have with this company is the 30 day wait for the rider but I am working through it. They really take care of their drivers. I was 40 miles from home and I asked if I could go to the house to wait for my next load cuz they didn't know when that would be. they said that would be alright and I was even paid for the time I spent at the house waiting for a load. I cant complain on the loads that they give us other than some shippers need to learn how to load a trailer so it wont waist our time weighing and reweighing loads and having to take loads back to shippers to be reworked. The pay is always the same each week unless you take an advance. there are always going to be dm's that you dong get along with but you need to put your differences away and be more worried about getting loads and keep rolling. I got a new DM today because I have been with the company for 30 days and now I am with my permanent DM unless he switches companies. if you want more information please feel free to message me on facebook keelen yanda. -
