Looking for shocks all around on the truck. Suspension, cab and trailer.
Local parts houses are nice, but they have stuff I don't want. Never had good luck on my cars with monroes.
I found gabriel shocks for the trailer here:

Where do you find your parts? Local? On-line?
where do you buy your truck parts?

I have developed a good relationship with a parts counter guy at a local after- market parts house. He can / will get me whatever I want, and offers suggestions . These fellas have a wealth of knowledge, and if you be- friend one, they can be worth their weight in gold.

I should qualify this that I have been wrenching on my own cars for my entire life. Dad started me young working on our 69 Olds Cutlass.
I spent 14 years as a mechanic in the guard. It was obvious where we got parts there.
I can find most of what I want for the car fairly easily and inexpensive. Now that I am buying the truck parts too instead of a supply/parts clerk having them for me, a different method.
You have JC Whitney and a few off-road places I would go to for 4WD parts for my trucks. Just never did a bunch of looking for heavy Class 8 parts.SpeedyGonzalez and aiwiron Thank this. -
I know heavy parts are hard to find in stock, a friend gets the part numbers and calls around sometimes. Believe it or not Napa is a great resource for heavy parts.
MNdriver, rollin coal, 58Skylane and 1 other person Thank this. -
Second truckpro and fleetpride, Google them. They're like auto zone of the truck world. Don't discount local truck dealers Pete, Freightliner, etc they can be competitive with truckpro, fleetpride on run of the mill parts like shocks, air drier cartridges, alternators, starters etc.

I have friends that work at Frieghtliner so I have e very good discount, other wise my local Napa carries lots of small items I need.

I go straight to Mack for most of my parts needs. There is a truck parts store right next to the local Mack dealer that I USED to get some parts through, but they decided they weren't making enough money to justify being open on Saturdays....which is usually the only day I have available to chase parts for a weekend project...so I don't even consider them anymore (which is funny, considering they are probably still holding parts I had ordered and haven't been able to get by to pick up & pay for because they aren't open when I can get there...) If Mack isn't an option, the local NAPA stores carry a good deal of generic truck parts, too...brake chambers, air/hydraulic lines and hoses, fittings, etc. and I'll swing by one of the local farm supply stores (TSC, Rural King, Buchheit's, Orscheln's, etc...) for grade 8 nuts & bolts, oil, grease, and other miscellaneous non-truck-specific stuff.
MNdriver Thanks this. -
My local freightliner dealer beats truckpro on a lot of items, 3030 brake chanmbers $34.00 fuel filters are less too. sometimes you have to get while on sale, sometimes not. overall truckpro beats the dealer price.
