I live in a townhouse(apartment like setting) and the last few times I've bobtailed home my wife gets a threatening letter a few days later about they want to give us a fine for parking the truck there. I'm not fortunate enough to have a good place to park but I cant be alone in this either. Has anyone else had any similar experiences and how did you go about finding a place to park. The company I work for wants to put me on a dedicated route soon, which I would like, but with the more frequent hometime I really will need somewhere to park. I have a few ideas and have some people back home researching this as well, but nothing solid has come through yet. Even people I know that have tons of property don't have room for the truck for some reason or another. Can anyone out there please share some information on this. Thanks in advance.
Where can I park my truck during hometime???

Ask your dispatcher. They may be able to find a place for you to park your truck when you're at home.

Where do you live? What does your company say?

also check into boat/rv storage places. Several in my area will allow a truck to park, as long as its not long term.

i'm fortunate in that i have a little dirt road in a little industrial area i can park. and i walk .7 miles home. it's 50 feet from the main street that stretches from one end of the valley to the other end. and doesn't allow parking in my town that i live in in this big city.
if i had to though. i know of some property that charges $100. it's a 15 mile drive but still within the city. i'd leave my car there so i had a way home.
we've also got a lot of dealers and repair shops clustered in one area. with a lot of trucks and trailers parked there. but for whatever reason. i can't get anyone of them to rent me some space. it's about 500 acres of field and different shops. they're all only 5 miles from home.DoneYourWay Thanks this. -
if its only for a day or two go to Walmart, Lowes and home depot. ask the manager if its ok. Also some hotels might not care because it makes them look busier. I have a guy that lives near me that asked a convenience store if he could park there and they said aslong as it was not for more then 3 days at a time.

My dispatcher usually beats around the bush so when I get home I bobtail to the house and chance the fines. I will look into the boat storage places as there are a lot of em around my area. I'm .going to have to dedicate some time to looking into this more on my next hometime visit. I don't know why its typing at a slant all of the sudden but I don't know how to fix it. Thanks for all the replies hopefully something will work out.

Many of the local trucking companies will sometimes let you park there - most for a small fee.

where ever you find, you should make sure your company is cool with that location.
