Hello guys, I recently joined this forum a year, and it has been a tremendous help.
Now my question is where can I go work and make at least $1500 a week gross every week?
I have 4+ years experience OTR, with 1 year recent as of now.
My DAQ and FMCSA profile are squeaky clean. The only negative against me is a truck stop fender-bender bump in January. No insurance claim was made, and not even sure it's on my record to be honest.
I'm currently at K&B Transportation and suffice to say the BS at this company is unrealing. Sadly, the cons outweigh the pros since I joined this company. The micro-managing and constant back and forth day driving then night driving switcheroo is not worth the $1125- $1250 a week paychecks unfortunately. The headache is not worth the $55,000 a year this company pays.
Before that I was at Schneider, and even though I was paid less, I actually made more money here once the safety and performance bonuses are paid. In my 9 months here I made about $58,000, and was on track to hit $75,000 until my miles dropped all a sudden.
I'm trying to save up at least $25,000 and buy a truck and be an owner operator eventually (sadly I should have already have the money saved up, but didn't through bad choices and here I am still a company driver).
So I really need your guys help in finding a good company where I can realistically make at least $1500 a week, possibly even more. Also, an APU or option to idle the truck would be great.
Lastly, I'm out of San Antonio, but since I am newly single I honestly don't mind changing my home state and CDL if I have too.
Please any and all recommendations are appreciated. Thanks

The closest we ever came to 1500 paychecks was as a trainer. 1450 salary weekly. And that was about 25 years experience done by then. 7 company officers had to sign off before I was made Trainer. That way the truck miles don't matter when you are training someone according to a 8 week schedule to achieve that trainee's very sepecific goals that they are required to learn and then master.
The second closest was to have wife learn to drive then go Team everything esseintally doubled in pay to the truck. All of the annoying hassles that suck pay out of your pocket as a single goes bye bye. You run 24/7 as a team working on your strengths and weaknesses.
Sometimes you get a dedicated assignment on salary. It's not going to be 1500. But it will be about a thousand give or take a few weekly until you decide that your time in dedicated service is done.
There are certain LTL routes with drops that will make you over 1000 to the truck. Again being a team maximizes this.
As far as everything else, you seem to be on your way. But it might be a while before you get here if that is what you are gunning for.truckerman75103, Dominick253 and Pacific Islander Thank this. -
I can suggest some companies but depends how you are willing to drive I am out of chicago and have people coming in my shop everyday looking for drivers. For that kind of money you would be looking somewhere between 3000 to maybe 3200 a week as long as you can do that week in week out i can refer you to a few different places that will take care of you and always pay you on time. you will have to idle truck since most are smaller companies and do not have apu other than that you have to be able to drive every state with exception of cali most of them do run a lot of east coast

Get yourself into a bit more specialized corner of the market. It's hard to hit that mark in general freight, as a company driver. This usually means LTL, foodservice delivery, a private fleet, hazmat/cryo or something of that general nature. Many of these pay hourly, and tolerable rates (dependent on geographical region of course). The gotcha is that most of these are quite a bit more labor intensive than the usual driving gig.

You could probably pull that hauling cars for a union outfit like Cassens. Kind of a steep learning curve, but once you get the hang of it will be easy money

I have heard CR England pays $120,000 net a year. Maybe try them.

I don't want to do team either, as honestly I don't think the other person would be able to keep up with my style of rolling, plus I like sleeping on a non moving truck and not having to cross my fingers as the other person drives.
LTL and food service sound great, but haven't seen one where I would make at least $1500 a week.
