Anything that has sufficient wattage to produce real heat will take more power than what you can provide in the cab, especially with the engine off. A small heater that you would use in your home would be anywhere from 700 to 1500 watts, and at 120 volts would be 6 to 12 amps, but at 12 volts it would be 60 to 120 amps, which you are not going to get out of a lighter plug rated for 20!

we are not trying to heat the truck just something to take the edge off. the heater in the truck works when it's parked idling. but when we are going down the road it slowly gets colder in the truck. we are trying to find to take that chill off in the truck until we can fix it.

does the heater in your bunk not work??? cuz it's what i use in conjuction with the dash heater.
i leave the fan on one. and i have a power switch on the dash i can turn off the back. works really darn good when the temps get in the negatives.
