Seems like the lanes that should be good right now are not paying worth a darn. Florida is done, Washington doesn't seem to have the amount of Cherries that it should at this time of year, corn in the midwest isn't running. What's happened? Is Commifornia the only state with reefer loads?![]()
Where are the good reefer lanes right now?

I subscribe to the USDA veggie and produce report. Not perfect but it's good info to have to get an idea of what's hot and what's not. Here's a link to a sample >> http://search.ams.usda.gov/mndms/2013/07/FV20130725DDAILY_MOVE.pdf
stonedoc and Aditransport Thank this. -
Thanks 48stater. That's a good report to have. Do you happen to know if there is a list of shippers somewhere to be found? I subscribe to a couple of load boards, but there are mainly brokers on there and I would like to deal direct with the shippers and cut out the middle mans profit and put it in my pocket instead.

Start off with a good broker, and try to get loads going to same receiver every trip. Do a good job, the receiver will notice you, then ask about hauling direct. Has happened to me several times.
However, a good broker can be a great thing to use. Just not many I consider good anymore.stonedoc Thanks this. -
