Recently offered a Club Car position with Koch Trucking. Was able to be signed up under their $7,500 sign on bonus. My previous company offered no benefits, no sign on bonus, and was non taxed work.

Might be a stupid question, but what exactly does it mean when it says the first payout will be upon first dispatch?

Pay goes in Saturday to Friday at a 5pm cut off. Expected first dispatch is this Thursday or maybe Friday.

Would I expect to see the first payout on the 3rd? Or after my first COMPLETED delivery, which would make it the 10th?

you will be dispatched and paid the first installment. But you won't see the $$$ on your check until you receive your check. Make sense ?

These are questions you should ask of your company, preferably before hiring on with them. If I were starting with a new company offering a $7500 sign on bonus, this would be something I would want to ask them more about...
Also curious, what do you mean by "non taxed work"???

Probabaly 1099 contractor where he has to pay self employment taxes , 13% social security , 3% Medicare , 2% unemployment tax , state income tax if applicable etc .
Toss in the state and local sales tax and its right at 50% tax rate .

If I remember correctly. Its paid out over one year of time. You get a token amount after 3 weeks ($500). Then it is paid out in anual quarters. Usually 1500 increments. With 2000 at the end of a year. If they dont pay you that way. What is the incentive to keep you working for them.

Some companies pay new drivers at a reduced rate which is basically returned to driver through longevity or through a sign on bonus. Sort of pay you back what they have stolen from you.

So, apparently "non taxed work" really means you pay about half your income in taxes???
Makes perfect sense to me... 1099? What could possibly go wrong?:biggrin_25514:
