Hey guys, I’m deciding on getting a tune up on my kenworth Cummins isx I just have two questions. what’s the average cost and labour hours on a engine tune up? And, after how long should you get a tune up? Please answer these questions at your earliest convenience. Thank you.

I’ve always heard once a year, or every 100k miles. I personally don’t do it. Engines are different, don’t know about ISX, but on my Detroit, if power and mpg is good, I leave it alone. Ran it over 1 mil miles, after initial 100k break in adjustment. This time around, I think I’ll run it every 150-200k. It Definitely won’t hurt, if done right. Probably pay for itself. Costs I see are around $350. Maybe some real Mechanics will chime in with some better info.

You do want an "overhead" probably every 100-150 K miles. You don't really tune up a diesel. Oil change and new filters usually and always do an oil sample at changes. This will tell you a lot about engine condition etc. Also change rear end fluid I'd say at 250 K. :salute::thumbup:
