tight is backing into old docks built and designed for old 96" trailers with roll-up back doors, with a 102" and swing out doors!
-
Yeah, I worry more about getting it out of that tight spot than getting it in....sorta like, I got it in there, now how do I get it out without rubbing on something. I had a power pole on my blind side at a butter plant in St. Louis that had a flat spot in it from the trucks nicking it and tearing off some of the wood...I didn't need any kindle wood so I left it all on the pole!!!bulldozerbert Thanks this. -
Then there are no lines at most of those old docks.
So the first guy gets a little crooked, and the rest do as well.
Then you have to back between 2 crooked trucks on docks with doors 9 inches apart.
I am glad I have not seen one of those in a while lol. -
I have one in the morning I've never been to and a warning on the qualcom that it's very tight so be careful.
I have all of 6 weeks experience now ( not counting school) so it should be fun.
My backing has improved greatly over the last week or so running around Portland,Seattle and Sacramento.
Glad I didn't get this one my first day lol.

Years ago i did home delivery of new furniture in a conventional and a 53 ft electronics drop trailer.I would go out with about 50 stops on the trailer.
I learned to back really fast.Out of neighborhoods, off of mountains, you name it.
One of the worst was in San Francisco and Lake Tahoe in 6 foot of snow.
The customer would always say there is plenty of room....the school buses have no problem! Idiots!
Backed 7 miles down a mountain in Cali one day with the CHP watching me.
Even had the news chopper above filming it.
Little one lane road... -
My pickup was those big round paper rolls, outa mich, up by the bay there, anyway its snowing , its icing , there a foot and half snow on the ground slick as all get out, i walk in hand him my pickup number, says too me are you gonna hit my wall too, i guess the first 7 hit the wall , i said nope, big light house inb front, coast gauard property then a big chain link fence, went out and almost fell on my kester , took the truck straight down the block got it straight , push it back thru the snow , brought nose around 90 almost too the flaring , quik hard left got it back straight almost, pull up too fence got it straighten out back right in, ya that was super tight en sliden, about 3 inches on ether side , one side wall the other a trl ,my first time and last time there and no i didnt hit the wall, he just said that was some pretty fancy backing up
