Hello everyone :) I am still interested in Truck driving. I took a break from this site for a few days and went to another forum to ask questions about nursing. For awhile i thought i wanted to be a nurse, but then i ended up changing my mind. Here i am once more, back to wanting to be a truck driver lol.
What's your life like on a daily basis as an OTR driver? I'm still pretty set on becoming a trucker, i just don't want to end up regretting it. If i can make good money to live comfortably, i'll be good.

So i shouldn't expect to make around 70k-80k year? I know it varies every year depending on how many miles you drive.

    Sure, you can expect that!

    You can also expect disappointment.

No, not for a long time anyway. Some people do, most dont.
You will probibly start around 35 to 40k. Most experienced drivers averange between 50 and 60k. Specialized drivers and local guys working very long hours can hit 70 to 80k

Man this is confusing lol. There's the people who live it and live comfortably, and also those who don't like it and don't live comfortably. I like the thought of being a truck driver but the only thing turning me away from it is money. And what sucks most is, i cannot find a career that'll interest me as much or more than trucking.

With all the endorsements you shouldn't have any problem making $60K-$65K right out of school, after all training is complete, and your first 12 months solo.

You CAN make good money when you have experiance if you put in hard work and long hours. But don't expect to make 80k, you have to rise above most drivers and earn it

That's not really true, he could make that, but most people with all endorsements make significantly less than that their first year
