whats the longest you have drove without stopping?

This could be an interesting thread if it's kept real.

 

Back in the Bad old days we ran no logbooks in Canada and my average was 5000 miles per week.... on Benzedrine. Think the highest was around 6500 in 7 days after which I collapsed.

These days I'm nowhere near as stupid.

 

I could post pictures of a ledger of trips I ran in 1977. Young and dumb. Paying the price now.

There was a black guy on the other side of town from me that would run LA and back by himself all the time. I ran into him a few times in Az where he had left a day later than me, and had caught up. He was so pilled up he couldn't sit still or make good sense. I would try to run with him, and every time I would say I was going to stop and eat, he would call out, "you don't need to eat, take a pill, take a pill".

One guy I ran with got some race horse medicine. It was on a toothpick that had been dipped in it. He swore he could see the music coming out of the radio speakers. This was the late 70's. I read where he died a couple of years ago.

 

WOW crazy drivers!! I took a couple of them yellow jacket pills that still had the afedrine in them before it was illegal and I drank a cup of coffe right after and an hour later I was back in the bunk past out for my 10 hours. Those ones sure didnt work on me and just keep in mind I have never done any drugs like that except that one instance. Didnt work on me

 

Watched a friend burn to death when he ran off the road with a fuel tanker and got trapped in the cab. Screaming and begging someone to shoot him. That's when I quit pills.

Never want to hear those cries again.... never.

I have some problems like that to just mine are from combat in afghnistan. Not good pictures in my mind that I wish I did not remember.

I have this bad self inflicted habit of leaving the house later then I probably should, so usually run Wi to NYC straight through most weeks. Get out there in the middle of the night and nap till the receiver comes in. Get a little sleep while reloading and roll west. Hmm....if I kick it through the night I could get Chicago or Milwaukee off a day early and go home

 

Back in February, we had a pool party at a resort in OH that I wanted to attend with some friends from the boating forums. Had it all worked out with a load to stop in route for the party. As with all well laid plans, a dispatcher got involved and it went to hell. Long story short, was up 45 hrs straight when we pulled into the resort at noon. Checked in and was gonna take a nap, but everyone was showing up so went pool side for the party. Finally petered out at 11:30pm and went to our room.
