Get Omnitracks by Qualcomm. I've had mine 7 months with not a single issue. Pricey but you get what you pay for.

Get a Switchboard or Garmin ELD. No monthly fees. You purchase the adaptor once and this is it! Garmin ELD cost one time fee of $250, works with apple and android tablets, it is available in Best Buy and Frys electronics.

SwitchBoard ELD, one time payment of $200 and you are good to go. No monthly fees. Works only on Android tablet.

Do not get Gorilla Safety - piece of junk. I am using one right now and will be returning this useless garbage. Every time the adapter looses connection to Bluetooth, the software stamps a note on the log "Tampered", like I am trying to alter and edit the logbook. These people are so stupid, who the hell is going to buy their system.... ha-ha-ha. Just imagine, how this logbook will look in front of the DOT inspection with the note "Tampered" .....

I bought mine from the company I leased my truck onto for $750. I believe Diesel Boss sells them @Dieselboss

I would avoid giving any money to the "big players" in the ELD industry, since they are just as guilty as the ATA where the push for the elog mandate is concerned. They spent a LOT of money lobbying for the mandate as a way to force the 90% of the industry that had no use for their product to have to buy it. If I have to buy one, it sure as hell won't be from one of them. Plenty of folks came around to capitalize on the opportunity after the fact, so there is no reason at all to support those who actively pushed for it.

I already had a Garmin Dezl570, which is compatible with their ELD...so that's the one I bought. Keeps the info locally (NOT in "the cloud" or on the www). Haven't hooked it up yet, so I'm hoping it'll work without running it through my phone (thereby avoiding any internet or cellular connection between my truck's ECM and the outside world...no "back doors" to be exploited). Pay for the unit and you're done...no monthly fees.

LOL, you don't even know if what you have works. Certainly wouldn't recommend or even mention something I haven't tried. How do you know they didn't do some back door lobbying so they could get a piece of the pie?

They weren't available until the last few months...wasn't even on the registry last summer when I was looking around and researching. If they had lobbied for the mandate, they would have been in the game a hell of a lot quicker to grab a bigger share of the market instead of getting in at the last minute.

Might be another month or more before I have to actually plug in...just depends upon how long it takes me to reach the 9th day in 30.
