    Hi guys,

    Need a professional advice,
I'd like to go a level up in my oversize/overweight hauling and trying to figure it out truck trailer wise?...
Here's what I'm thinking of hauling up to 150K GCW
    Truck
    Pete,Mack, KW, Freightliner or International
CAT, Cummins X15, Detroit Diesel 550-605HP?
    16-20K Steer?
    20K pusher?
    46-52k rears?
Need auxilary transmission or 2spd rear ends?
    Double or single frmed ?
Manual , AUTO, or AMT transmission? which works best?

Trailer thinking between RGN or Double drop
    35-50Ton
    Stretch or regular?
    3-4 axle?
    2+1+1?
    or 3+1 ?

There is a reason you only see KW's pulling super heavy equipment. I forget what the truck is called in Tx but it's a kw that pulls a lot of the huge stuff around there.

This look like T800, and a set up for super load, I wont go that big due to lack of experience and bunch of other things...

140k. You need to get to look at the picture thread particularly at @superhauler rig setup. He runs a 3-1 trailer, 8 axles total. I believe a 16000lb front (he has a hood...with a shorter hood it’s going to have to be 20k)

Yeah...probably close to $275k for a beefy tri-drive rig. Wayyyy too much truck for 140k. It would be like trying to use a bazooka for duck hunting.

You're thinking too heavy of a spec....I routinely gross 195k....truck is a 2018 sd122.....505hp...18spd...3.91 gears...14.3 front axle....46k rears with 3/4 lockers n single frame. I pull a 2+3+2. Truck does perfectly fine in any part of the country.

Most common spec here in Canada for 140,000 lbs:
    500-600 hp
    18 spd
    3.91 rears
    13,000 lb front axle
46,000 lb rear axles with full lockers
    11R24.5 Tires

stwik, Cat sdp and Oxbow Thank this.

I've seen just about every brand out there hauling heavy. International seems to be the rarest though. Kenworth, Western Star and Peterbilt seem to be the most common though.

Kenworth has many more options when specing a truck compared to peterbilt. I also think its overdoing things. I would personally go with the heavy steer axle with the 325 width tires, a pusher axle, and for the trailer a 4 axle with 2 lift axles. For trucks my personal recommendation would be a t860. Aerodynamic (helps lots with all the deadheading), high ground clearance, lots of heavy spec options.

This lets you run pretty heavy and get all the loads that many other drivers cant get because of the 4 axle trailer and heavier steer axle. I have a friend who hates the flip axle and wishes he never did it, opting for 2 lift axles instead. He says it gets in the way of the boom on many loads, while also being a pain in the ### to flip over.
