I looked all over and I can't find anything. In NY it appears that it means you can only drive a vehicle with power steering. I just renewed my Nevada CDL and it has a "J" restriction. That's a new one that means I have to have a valid DOT physical card.

the back of my nj license shows no Q restriction
or what it might be -

Q Restriction
This is the Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspection Only restriction. This restriction applies to a Commercial Drivers License only. It is applied to CDL licenses when the driver only holds the CDL for Vehicle Inspection purposes, and does not intend to operate a CDL-required Commercial Motor Vehicle on public roadways. This restriction is maintained by Vehicle Safety & Inspection Services.
This restriction will display on a license as: CDL CMV Vehicle Inspection Only.
Notice that this is from Massatwoschidts. Couldn't find anything about it in searching Jersey. It may or may not apply.Pop Thanks this. -
