whats a good gps unit to have

I uses the garmin dezl 560, I love it, not sure about the 50lm, and the gps is a great GUIDE to have, but you absolutely need to check all routes in your atlas

 

are you sure 50Lm will show truck routes?

 

Make sure it's for OTR. DEZL760 is the trucker route one.

 

It looks like a four wheeler unit, if you're going to spend the money on one, you should get a truck specific gps, most of which can be switched to car mode for your personal vehicle

 

I think I'm going to try the "Truckers Tablet" next, my 7 year old PC Miler is still telling me where all the Union 76 Truck Stops are.

 

Get one that works good..

If it doesn't say or if you have to ask then it's not a truck GPS.

Just like smart phones, there's iPhone and Samsung and then everything else. In the truck GPS world there is Garmin DEZL 560 or 760 and Rand McNally 520 or 720 and then everything else. Get one of these (Garmin or RM) and don't forget that your truck has windows or how to use an atlas.
