what year C15's are 6NZ

Pretty sure the 6NZ's started in 2001 and went until early 2003. No difference in different years of 6NZ's. Cat could cost up to 25K for a rebuild normally Detroits are up to 15K

5EK 40 pin ECM, single timing sensor 14.6L

6TS 40 pin ECM, single timing sensor 14.6L

1LW 40 pin ECM, single timing sensor, stronger block then previous, 14.6L

5DS 40 pin ECM, single timing sensor, stronger block then previous, 600hp big bore 15.8L

2WS 70 pin ECM, Dual timing sensor, same block as 1LW, 14.6L

1MM 70 pin ECM, Dual timing sensor, same block as 1LW, bigger bore 15.8L

6NZ 70 pin ECM, Dual timing sensor, block machine out old cam bore (from mechanicals), new sealing surfaces, 14.6L

7CZ 70 pin ECM, Dual timing sensor, 600hp 15.8L

MBN 70 pin ECM, Dual timing sensor, horrible ecm programming, high compression ratio, high temps, 14.6L (often flashed with 6NZ or 7CZ files to run much better)

BXS different 70 pin ECM, twin turbos, IVAs (intake valve actuators), longer stroke, 15.2L

MXS 120 pin ECM, twin turbos, IVAs (intake valve actuators), longer stroke, 15.2L

You can do a cat in frame a lot cheaper with after market kit

 

Nope- Gordon Robertson did his 12.7 detroit in his driveway..$4500 including a reman head. Less injectors and turbo

 

On youtube a guy goes by kt3406e. He rebuilds and has some good info about cats. He gets about 30k but goes way above and beyond anyone else i know of .machine work and probably builds better than brand new!

 

A friend of mine has his acert in the shop right now, it will also have to have a new cam and everything that touches the cam for a warranty, estimate was 44,000.
