Did you know when you cook or warm food up in the Nuke oven, you kill all the source of protien and nutrients in your foods ? I know many use them, I'm also a firm believer that using the Nuke oven causes Cancer in the long run. It's not rocket science what kind of rays heats your food up.......

The very first question you need to answer is, "Does your company allow an inverter, and if so what wattage do they allow?" Most training companies don't allow high wattage inverters because of the fire hazard for improperly installed inverters.
Find out if your company will allow an inverter to be installed. I know with Swift they don't allow it unless you require it for a CPAP machine, and then you must have it installed by their technicians.
Who do you work for or plan on training with?
Outside of having a microwave and refrigerator (if you won't be a allowed a high wattage inverter) you can do very well with a 12v cooler (like a Koolatron or Coleman brand) and a Burton cook pot. Avoid anything Roadpro.
Right now I have a refrigerator and microwave in the truck (not a starter company), and never use the freezer in the refrigerator and very rarely use the microwave.mcgirl Thanks this. -

I use a 600 watt. You can get them over 1100 watts but then you need bigger inverter, bigger wiring, etc.

I run a 700 watt microwave and a 1.7 cf minifridge on my truck. I have a 1500 watt inverter on my truck

Microwave ovens have different wattage requirements. Before buying check the watts and then find an inverter that will work. I would think that a 1500-2000 watt inverter would take care of most of your needs. Those need to be connected directly to your batteries. The largest inverter that I know where you can plug into the cigarette lighter is 400 watts, I believe. I run my laptop and printer off a 400 watt inverter. A microwave requires a larger inverter. But, check with your company before buying an inverter or microwave. You can usually use the microwave at some truck stops. There are food warmers and electric coolers which can plug into cigarette lighters.

I use a refrigerator and microwave off of a 1500 watt inverter. BUT, I got cables that are rated for more. The microwave is I think 700 watts $40? At walmart. Truck needs to be running any time micro wave is being used. If thawing frozen food I do 3 mins at a time to let batts and alt cool down. Takes more time but I dont want to buy a new fire extinguisher.
