Schnieder,Marten, Central Ref,Swift, and most of the megacarriers have a Western regional (11 western states). Earl Henderson Trucking has a yard in Modesto,Ca. I don't know about small to mid-sized companies,but it wouldn't surprise if there is quite a few.

I know knight hires for west coast they have a terminal in salt lake if u can id try to get on the reefer divison I herd they treat there drivers better but good luck

I used to drive for central ref and wouldnt advise it of u wanna be company they start at .28 I do have two friends who still drive for them and I took them a little over a year to
Make money they leased and are trainers but bringing in about 5000 a mounth -

Only reason I prefer the west is due to direct flights home to Alaska and I have family in so Cal.

Squirel where in SoCal.? if the L.A. area Ontario and Fontana is where the majority of companies have their yards.

Check out los angeles or inland empire craigslist...tons of local/regional gigs for experienced guys. no need to go for the bottom feeder mega carriers
