Last week, I completed a trip, and after the trip, the company didn't pay me the $7500 for the trip. I would really appreciate it if you can advise me on what to do next. I have been calling the company, but they never pick up. Thank you very much in advance for your help.

with the amount of information that truck909 posted regarding "all the details" is there a wonder why no one has offered any advice. Could ya be any more vague?

For starters, you can file an online complaint with your states DOL, wage and hour division. I would also have an attorney send them a letter of intent. Pretty much says, pay up or get sued. Some people will think different when they get a lawyer letter.

I once got screwed out of a bunch of money. I took 4 friends with me to his office and we put the fear of god in him. We didn't touch him, we just let him know I wasn't messing around. He borrowed the money off his sister and paid me the next day.

Another time a guy owed me wages and I found out where he lived which he wasn't expecting. Showing up at his house did nothing. But after the lawyer sent him the letter of intent, he paid me. Cost like $40 for the letter.

Now if I can just get the $1500 someone else screwed me out of. Sometimes you just have to throw your hands up in the air if they are not suable.

You could walk in his office, grab him by the throat and ask for your money. Or you could put sugar in all of his fuel tanks. The possibilities are endless. :violent1:

Sounds like your running your own authority. File against their bond RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!"!! Call OOIDA and let them know, they deal with this all the time. You're most likely hosed though and will get $500 in 6 years from the bankruptcy court. That's all saying that you didn't deliver a damaged load.

If you were hauling under your own authority and took this load from a broker or a leaser you can make the shipper pay you the freight charges directly even if he paid the broker already. Take a look at Section 8 of the BOL if that is not signed then call whoever you took the load from and tell them you r next call is to the shipper. If they want to keep the customer they will pay you ASAP if not contact the shipper and tell them you plan to send them an invoice for the charges

I had a company screw me pretty good after one of our OK tornado's. Came up from TX to do some deconstruction. Hired us to sit on there equipment. Went fine for the first few weeks then decided not to pay. Tried being diplomatic until he cussed me out and hung up, WRONG! After 2 weeks of collection attempts. I drove to TX and booted 2 of his company trucks and his personal truck with a past due reminder on his winshield...didnt take too long to get paid after that...
