And when you hit a metal barrier that closes the exit going to a closed weigh station, what would the transponder will tell you to do next?

Are you always obtuse? Closed is closed...

Weigh Station 101: The Rules and Bypass Programs

    Weigh Station Process:

Phase 1: When driving on the highway, you will likely notice a sign indicating a weigh station coming up. When you are within about half a mile from the weigh station, you will see signs showing whether it is open or closed. If closed then you do not have to stop. If it is open, the driver gets into the lane to exit and line up for the scale. Some scales are rolling scales while others you have to stop, so read the indicators at each scale to know what you are supposed to do.

Phase 2: As you head onto the scale, make sure the speed limit is followed, you can’t just speed through. The scale will show directions about stopping or slowing down. At times you may be asked to stop for further inspection, where they will look at the axles and/or equipment. Your license plate and DOT number are checked via camera and into a computerized system as you pull in.

Phase 3: If you pass the weigh station inspection, your DOT number is added into a computer system to make sure that your data is accurate as well as your log. Your log book and safety rating may be looked at. From there you will be released to go and all is good.

The truck would probably beep, and say, “Collision Warning” before impact.

So by your logic I should stop at the southbound scale in I 65 at Elisabeth town, ky. When I get the red light on my prepass and the sign saids CLOSED.... because they don't turn the prepass off when they close

A very high percentage of scale houses leave the pre pass on when they close for the day or night, and this is the first time I’ve ever heard of anybody pulling into a closed scale when the closed sign is out, but to each there own!

No offense intended to any one reading post.
People in general are usually somewhat STUPID, (look at Bars, saloons, dance halls and Trucking) for 4 examples, and companies do not shy away from hiring some incredibly dense drivers who enter Scales when big glowing sign claiming CLOSED .

I drove Auto-shaft Combos for YEARS but NEVER did i EVER drive any Truck with a "Prepass" thingy and only briefly with a "gaggle mapping unit", which as well proved useless.

    :cool::rolleyes:

If a restaurant has a CLOSED sign, do you knock on a door or window??

I’m telling what prepass tells you. Read the bypass brochure for yourself.

Watched Shawshank this weekend huh? Original quote there big thinker. Again all i did was repeat what prepass tells you. By the way skip a weigh station in Ohio, if they’re in there they will come after you. Ask me how i know smart*ss

It’s not my logic, it’s your agreement of the terms of use of prepass.

Got a ticket for it in Ohio in ‘08. Ohio became the only state i went threw a closed scale. I called b/s when the safety man told me, so i called prepass to prove a point. They said same thing, follow in cab not signage. Of course if a barrier is up that’s one thing, but otherwise. I haven’t used prepass in almost ten years, maybe it’s changed since then, i don’t know.

see above re-re. Glad you parked your short bus. What happened, couldn’t pass the sap course?

do you by a transponder for your windshield and pay a monthly subscription for a restaurant??

I knew there was a problem with reading comprehension in this industry but you knuckleheads took it to a whole new level on this one. I literally just repeated what prepass says in their own paperwork and what the sign on the side of the highway says and you clowns went full on nutjob. Call prepass and ask them. Call Ohio State Police & ask them. Update me when you have more than a sore butt.
